Derbyshire County Training Partnership

Derbyshire County Training Partnership (DCTP) was established in June 2003 to provide and promote training for parish and town council clerks and councillors, as an initiative under the National Training Strategy.

The Partnership is made up of five member organisations: DRCC - the lead organisation, Derbyshire Association of Local Councils (DALC), Derbyshire County Council, the Learning & Development Consortium for the Voluntary Sector in Derbyshire, and the Society of Local Council Clerks (SLCC).

DCTP aims to:

  • Provide high quality training for parish and town council clerks and councillors.
  • Promote a culture of training within local councils in Derbyshire,
  • Investigate and promote appropriate training opportunities for local councillors and clerks.
  • Coordinate training delivery for local councillors and clerks to maximise their opportunities to take up training.
  • Support and guide councillors and clerks to the best training options for them.
  • Sustain significant and vibrant training programmes in Derbyshire.

Training Bursary Scheme
There is training bursary, funded by Defra, available to parish and town clerks through the National Training Strategy. Click here for more information and an application form.
