Fuel Poverty & Energy Efficiency (FREE)

26th October 2011

FREE - Future of Rural Energy England - is part of a national project supported by Calor. FREE logo

The project aims to impact on fuel poverty mainly in 'off gas grid' (ie not on mains gas),  areas of rural England.  In Derbyshire FREE is organising events to inform people about steps they can take to reduce their fuel bills.

RAD is recruiting Volunteer Village Energy Assessors to make home visits to tailor the advice and support to individual homes.

So far RAD have run 3 training sessions and have 12 VEAs on the scheme, working in High Peak and Derbyshire Dales. We intend to expand the scheme into other parts of Derbyshire as time and funds permit.
