Derbyshire
Aggregates Levy Grants Scheme
2007/08
Applications for 2007 close Monday
23rd April 2007
Grants are available for a wide range
of environmental and public amenity projects that compensate
local communities for the impacts of aggregate extraction,
subject to conditions set out in the guidance
notes.
If your application is unable to demonstrate
sufficient impact of aggregate extraction or does not adequately
meet the essential funding criteria you will be advised that
it is not eligible for a grant. All other applications will
be fully assessed and submitted for consideration by the grants
panel and the Local Area Agreement Board for Sustainable and
Stronger Communities (including Transport).
This year the County Council has made changes to the priority
areas – the Hope Valley and Stanton in the Peak have
been excluded (at Hope production is mainly for cement or
other industrial minerals which are not subject to the aggregates
levy and extraction at Stanton in the Peak is mainly for dimensional
stone which is not subject to the levy). The Middleton Dale
priority area has been extended to include Calver as well
as Stoney Middleton.
Your main point of contact for dealing with
applications is the Derbyshire
Environmental Trust and if you have any queries please
contact DET on 01629 585314, by email at det@derbyshire.gov.uk
or write to Derbyshire Environmental Trust, County Hall, Matlock,
