A new, nationally recognised standards scheme for Village Halls and Community Buildings is now available across Derbyshire, and halls in the north east of the county can find out more at a special half-day event on Thursday 11th March 2010.
The Hallmark Scheme, offered in Derbyshire through Rural Action Derbyshire’s highly valued Village Halls Service, has been specially designed to recognise the different aspects of village and community hall management.
The half-day event at South Wingfield Parish Rooms will provide those that attend:
• with further information about the Hallmark scheme and the different standards,
• an understanding of the process and how to apply into the scheme, and
• a better understanding of charity administration – necessary to achieve Hallmark 1.
“We are delighted to be able to offer the new Hallmark scheme in Derbyshire,” remarks Helena Stubbs, Rural Action Derbyshire’s Village Halls Advisor. “Like many local charities, village and community halls are run by a small team of dedicated volunteers who contribute on average 18 ½ hours per week to try and keep halls operational. This standards scheme now gives them the opportunity to be externally assessed and, if successful, receive recognition for the charity and for all the hard work that goes into the day to day running of community premises.”
Anyone interested in the event and the scheme itself should contact Helen Faraday at Rural Action Derbyshire on 01629 824797. Further information is also available here.
Further Hallmark events will be run throughout the year. If you would like more information please contact Rural Action Derbyshire or visit the website.
