New Firework Legislation
Whilst Bonfire Night and the New Year Celebrations are over,
it is worth remembering that new rules have now come into
force preventing the misuse of fireworks.
Under the Firework Act 2003 under-18s are banned from possessing
fireworks in public places and the public are not allowed
to possess 'category four' professional fireworks. Curfews
on setting off fireworks, recognised training for display
operators and the introduction of a licensing system for
suppliers was implemented last year.
