RAD has teamed up with Make it Cheaper

Rural Action Derbyshire is now working with independent energy advice company 'Make it Cheaper' to try to help businesses find the best available energy prices on the market. They specialise in seeking out the best energy supply contracts for businesses to help keep utility costs to a minimum. "Businesses" includes community buildings, charities, local shops, agricultural businesses, churches and other local businesses. Energy has never been so expensive, with all six energy providers announcing steep price hikes over the last couple of months. With the looming threat of a double dip recession, we can no longer afford to ignore the substancial savings that we could be making by switching provider.

RAD launches new Oil Buying Syndicate

Rural Action Derbyshire is looking for local co-ordinators to help run its new bulk-buying scheme for domestic heating oil. The scheme, which has just been launched aims to bring communities together to make the most of joint buying power so that greater savings can be made and passed on to customers. We want the scheme to be rooted in communities – and are looking for local volunteers who will act as ‘go-betweens’ for us.

Making a Difference: Research on the Voluntary and Community Sector in Derbyshire was a piece of research commissioned by the 3D Voice Project and carried out by Sheffield Hallam University in Spring 2011. Local volunteers needed

Terrestrial television signals in Derbyshire will be switching over to digital from the 3rd August 2011. Rural Action Derbyshire is supporting the local roll-out of the BBC’s “Switchover Help Scheme” to ensure no-one misses out on the support they need to make the necessary changes. We need local volunteers to help with our programme.

Mobile Office in a Van now available for hire

Rural Action Derbyshire has a mobile office which can be hired by groups working in Derbyshire for just £15 per day. Ideal for use at outdoor events or to bring information to outlying areas the vehicle can be driven by anyone with a standard driving licence.
