DRCC has a leading role in developing Parish and Community Plans in rural Derbyshire. DRCC are contracted, under its service level agreement with its funders, to support community planning, and in particlar to promote and support Parish Plans. DRCC Rural Officers have many years of expertise in commuity planning processes, and are on hand to advise local groups and Parish Councils on best practice in creating their own Parish Plans. Each of the Rural Officers covers an area of Derbyshire, and is working with the local authorities, LSPs and other ‘stakeholders’ in their area to make the most of the opportunities presented by community planning.

Communities considering undertaking a Parish Plan need to consult DRCC prior to applying for the Parish Plan Grant. Rural Officers from DRCC will be on hand to answer your queries at the drop-in sessions and you will also be able to pick up an information pack specific to your district.

Parish Planning is an opportunity for the community to set out a shared vision for the next 5 – 10 years and creating a realistic plan for achieving this vision.

What’s more, Parish Planning (also known as Community Planning) is an effective way to bring members from all corners of the community together to have their say and play a part in shaping the future of their community.
